I was just poking around with my MIA strat that I've had since new.

I just noticed that tuning pegs highE to D strings have the same square shouldered tuning pegs but low A and low E strings have a tapered tuning peg.

Does anyone else have this?

I thought all the tuning pegs should be the same style..
I could see those two pegs needing the tapered-ness since they don't have a string tree to pull them down over the nut.

Be interesting what the rest of you have

Oh ok .. I did a Google and found this picture.. very close to mine. (this one shows the D string as well tapered, mine is only the A and E strings)

Hi Eracer_Team,

Yep, staggered tuners stock on my 08 Am Std too, only my A and low E are tall, the other 4 are the short ones. :)

Welcome to wonderful world of Fender variable production

So you have DLX model, nice. I had to do the same on my Standard. I am using .11 set of strings and D string short tuner would give me problems if I had 2 windings on it. I have since replaced it with a long post D tuner and no probs. You have locking tuners on DLX so you don't even two winds, but fender still provides linger D post.
