its somewhere inbetween. youtube it.

ive not used fralin pups though i get a huge discount on them.
i dont know whats good or bad in that line

I did a quick search and the vids I saw were all dirty sounding, not for me... I don't do Metal ;)

Fralin makes great pickups IMO, depends on what tone you're after I guess. The Vintage Hots are their best seller I think, I wanted something a little hotter... if you can get huge discounts you should definitely get a set!

oh come on cedar, take a walk on the wild side bro. the JB does classic rock and roll very well and some metal too. they are a very hot pup indeed. a great mix with the 69ers imo, that makes for a well rounded guitar, one you can walk on a stage and fill the bill in just about any situation.
as for the fralins, i just dont want to spend the cash on something
im gonna be stuck with if i dont like them. im a seymour and dimarzio
guy i guess. i do like some of fenders pups as well.

Lightning Jimmy Cedar "walks" very well indeed. I'm not lying when I state unequivocally that I wish I had his blues licks!

But for his line of "work", likening a S-D JB to a set of Fralin VH's is akin to comparing an M-1 Garand with an 03A3 Springfield when the task at hand is precision long-range shooting.

I like them both but I think the black looks more dramatic so my vote is for the black.

----------------

I just took another look. I like the white better.

----------------

No, no, definitly the black.

----------------

The white looks more classy.

----------------

But the black loks more rock n roll!

If I want that classic rock tone I reach for my LP or even my 335, my Strats will always remain Strats! ;)

I'm actually gonna say black I think it makes it looks cool, and ya dont see quite as many lake placid blue colors if thats the color i'm thinking of with a tuxedo style guard. As long as you like it i say keep it how U want it

I'm voting again - mint green - again. Mrs. Kong says mint green too! So that's 3 votes from the two of us for mint green.

Black does work with black though ...
