So I'm testing out some pickups and in the process decided to use a different pickguard with my MIM Strat, what do you think? Yes or no?

White one definitely.

The black one makes it look like a early 80's bad copy.

Thats a tough call Cedar I like both looks. However if you want to send me the mint green guard I'll put it to good use... :D

I knew the 80s thing would come up :) it really looks great in person! pics don't do it justice.

That mint pickguard is busy getting abused with different pickups installations

I'd actually say yes; as in black. I love both, but it feels like the black one makes it more unique and...yeah... :P

Tough choice, they both look great. But if i had to choose only one, I like the vase on the right side of the picture a little better than on the left side. Yeah, the black looks more bada$$ than the mint green. It contrasts very nicely with the white covers and knobs. The black just makes the guitar look more substantial, as opposed to the more subdued look of the mint green. I wouldn't kick either one of them out of bed though, they both look great. :D

LOL

I agree, that's what I thought when I first installed it... I like the classy look of the mint pickguard, but the black makes it look meaner. But at the same time the gold hardware keeps it a bit classy.

It's like this, see......

Two identical restored '69 Camaro Z28s at a car show. Both with the Rallye Sport package, both in Hugger Orange with white stripes and black vinyl roof, both with the same ancillary options -- D60 ducktail spoiler, J57 4-wheel power disc brakes, M-22 gearbox with Hurst shifter, cowl induction hood, rallye gauge cluster, teak steering wheel, etc etc.

Car "A" is wearing NOS 15x8 argent-colored rally rims with polished center caps and trim rings, and shod with period-correct Goodyear F60-15 Polyglas GT rubber.

Car "B" is a set of those horrid 20-inch rims with the chromed "spinnerettes" and a set of low-profile Pirelli P3s.

So which ride gets the trophy?

Arjay

Mint green looks best to me. In fact I think it is about the only pickguard that works with LPB.

Black is not bad, but I just love the mint!

You being the proud owner of a Z06 Corvette, I figured you "get the drift".

Actually the black guard does not look "bad".

But the mint one just looks better.

I like either but prefer black pickguard with black vol and tone knobs

As for the Camaro, the preference would have been a 67 SS with a balanced and blueprinted 327, turbo 400 tranney, too many goodies to list, pushed out about 600 HP and did the quarter in about 10.5-11.0 seconds.
Oh and completely debadged except for SS insignia's on front grill and central rear fuel cap and repainted in a 74 cadillac green, (reminiscent of a jade green with metallic specs.   :)

That vehicle would rate display space next to the PT Cruiser low rider conversions and the Sentra/Corolla pocket rockets.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
