Hello all,
I'm wanting maybe buy this strat body on ebay. He says it's a 2010 American Standard but it has writing on the pickups. Probably says "noiseless" . It also looks like a one ply pick gaurd. I sent the seller a couple of questions and he hasn't responded. Does anyone know what it might be? He says it's all original but it doesn't seem correct to me. PLEASE TAKE A LOOK AND TELL ME WHAT YALL THINK>

No; it's not an American Standard loaded body. An American Standard would have both a 2-post trem and the body portion of the Micro-Tilt mechanism. This body has a 6-screw trem and there isn't the Micro-Tilt screw in the neck pocket (this would be in-between and slightly above the lower 2 neck mounting screw holes. The pickups are not Fender Noiseless; they have either a gold or silver script on the top of the pickup cover; these pickups have a black script on the bottom of the pickup covers.

Best case this might be a Highway 1 body with some type of replacement pickups - the ebay seller hasn't posted an enlargeable photo and when I blow it up through the zoom level the script is unreadable; it could also be a loaded replacement body of some kind.

Looks like another four-flusher, trying to pull a fast one.

Take a look at his "other item" for sale......

This isn't an American Standard Strat either (not enough frets).

Thank you very much for your help. I knew it looked all wrong. I appreciate it.

That's why he hasn't responded to my questions I've sent. He's just trying to rip someone off.

Report it to eBay! eBay has pulled ads for this before, one recently, possibly because of the forum members reporting it. Myself and several others, emailed the guy about his ad, then reported to eBay, he then redid his ad, and revised the description and relisted, but eBay pulled it, probably because of complaints.

Yep, definitely not! Even though it is hard to see in the photo, the black color around the truss rod adjust hole with that style logo looks like a Mex Std to me. I wonder if the "Made in Mexico" has been tampered with like they sometimes do.

Wrong logo, on the complete guitar
Wrong bridge
No micro tilt adjustment
Wrong pickups

I reported both of the listings to ebay. I hope they catch it before the bidder buys that guitar. I've been ripped off before on a guitar and it sucks.

Me too! The auctions will both be over today, it might be too late, but that's all that we can do. It's great to have so many knowledgeable people here to ask about these things. :)

I initialy thought the body was a Vintage Reissue. Theres plenty of markings on the neck pocket. Mexican bodies usually have the router jig circle in the neck pocket. The bridge looks right for one too.

Then I thought, why would he sell that as a american standard. The VRI is a much costlier instrument. Then I saw the other sale.

Dunno what it is. Jimmy Vaughn body maybe?

It may even be a pic from reliablefender they use a wood grain table for most of their pics.

Yes it is definately great to have so many people with so much experience with these guitars. I've learned alot from this forum just in the short time I've been using it. I hope someday I may know enough to help people on here.
