I've got a 2009 American Deluxe Ash Strat, and I'm trying to figure out what kind of ash the body is composed of (swamp ash, northern ash, etc.). Does anyone have an idea on this?

No idea, but my personal dlx ash stratocaster is heavy and has a darker fuller tone than normal alder strats. that is what ive noticed.

Who knows? I've asked where the alder wood comes from and have never found out,you would think there would be a source information page or something,but the way things are now like with rosewood and the Gibson scare,maybe they don'y want to say.

It is typically Northern Ash.
