complete newbie to electric guitars (coming from acoustics) and fenders here. can anyone offer me some advice please?

i'm in the market for a mexican strat, easy enough. but for a 20 or 30quid ($30/45) more the hss version and a classic 60's.

can anyone advise me if its worth paying that bit more for either of these and whether they offer significant improvement/playability to the standard strat?

thanks

Welcome!

All three models you've named are made in Mexico (MIM).

If you want a beefier sounding bridge pickup than that of a 'screamer', then the HSS is your choice. This would also be louder too than that of the single coil. Again, if this is your aim.

As to the Classic 60s, sidestepping all the hype, some like a more vintage type Strat, whereas other like the more modern feel ones.

As to the 20 or 30 quid aspect, I personally don't think it is worth it on general principle but if one of these 20 or 30 quid more guitars will give you that much more in terms of satisfaction, well then to you it may surely be worth it.

The bottom line here is, your questions can only be answered by yourself upon playing and hearing all three and then making a decision. NOTHING beats hands-on when selecting a new instrument especially when it is out of your comfort (meaning, acoustic) zone.

Good luck!
