Hi, I own a 1960 Fender custom shop relic strat and also an expensive luthier built strat made out of ash that souds more like a Gibson on single coils (my treasures). Well, I really needed a cheap destroyer strat for rehearsing and small gigs, and today came across this Dakota Red Squier Fender Bullet Strat in clearance (new) for 75 usd. Lucky me it was the last item in the store, the sales guy had kept it cause it had a small dent in the back. I tried it against the Affinity squier strats which supossedly are a little better, and to my ears the Affinity strats were inconsistent. Clearly the bullet strat sounded better, bought it happily. So at home i plugged it into my rig and the sound of the neck and bridge positions are very nice! bright, very Dick Daleish, the rest of the positions are simply ok, nothing to do vs my 2 other strats but I feel like I bought a good instrument more than a destroyer backup guitar.
I never expected 75 bucks to sound so well. I know this batch of bullet strats have some years of age, the SN is CY and 8 digits, made in China, if anyone comes across one of those, snatch it!.

My wife and I purchased one of these for my son several years ago, and I was impressed by it as well, considering the price. I imagine it would serve well as a back-up axe.

If you break into my house and steal any of my Fenders, I will hurt you.

If you steal my much modified Squier Standard Strat (that gets picked up a dozen times a day, is usually dusty and has lots of dings and dents and is left leaning in a corner), then I will kill you..
