Just curious if anyone here has had an eric johnson strat on order from Fender for months and months. I don't get what is going on with the mfg. process that delays delivery of these for so long.

Fender makes guitars in batches - I believe I read somewhere that it was a run of 100 or maybe 200 at a time for regular production models (FSR models could be smaller runs). I believe each run is a specific color - so they would do a run of say 100 black American Deluxe Strats, then a run of 100 red American Special Strats, etc. Fender has been working through a huge backlog of orders for the American Specials and American Deluxes for a while so I suspect the next EJ runs are somewhere behind these runs.
