I can't help myself. When I find a Strat I like, and I have the spare cash, I just have to get it. Today, I stumbled into a 40th Anniversary American Standard for a steal. It's been played, but not abused, so it has the natural light relic-ing of a 16-year-old guitar that's seen some use. Am I the only one who's a sucker for "just one more" Strat?

My consequences of this disease are 14 guitars later... 3 of them are low end but have been modded to middle of the road, the other 11 are top end players guitars.

A healthy disease is better than a killing disease.

Isn't that better than going the other way? ... when the next guitar costs half as much as the previous ...

I've been hit with this disease over 50 times when you count amps and effects to go along with my 29 guitars. No known cure-Thank God!

I also suffer from this affliction. About a month ago I bought a 1993 MIJ 54 reissue. I thought that would help cure me, but alas, it only made it worse. Last night I went out and bought a another MIJ 54 reissue, this time a 2006.
I couldn't pass up the price, the guy had it listed for $400, but took $360. I paid $550 for the one I bought a month ago.

One more Strat has turned into one more project. I'm trying to decide on the right set of pickups now. I'm thinking Lace Golds.

BTW, does anyone have any experience repairing a two-point bridge mount? The holes for the anchor lugs are a little loose, and I'm wondering if I need to plug and redrill, or fill and glue? Any helpful insights will be greatly appreciated.

Got no desire for a new guitar at all.

Don't read guitar mags.
