I am posting this Squier question here because the Squier Forum does not move much info.

I am looking a purchasing a guitar for my nephew for Christmas. I bought him a beginners Squier acoustic for his guitar lessons last June. He now wants an electric. I am financing his lessons and want him to have something nice. He is really loving guitar and seems quite talented.

Currently I am considering the Squie Deluxe or the Classic Vibe 50's. I have played and seen some CV50's in the store but never a Deluxe that I recall.

Any one here have or play a Deluxe Squier?

Opinions welcome.

1st off let me commend you, your nephew will be indebted
with you for life.
Really awesome.
Now the nitty gritty, the cv50s seems like a better buy.
I absolutely love this guitar, the only reason I don't shoot for
one is that I'm goin for the tele. Never tried the deluxe, your
talking about the daphne blue or white right?
IMO the cv50s is my choice. It really feels better than mim
IMHO

Yes, the "Deluxe" in Daupine or White with maple. It's a little less expensive than the CV. I think I saw one a couple of years ago. It was a white Squier with Seymour Duncan pickups, in a music store

Let there be no mistake, I am getting more out of buying him lessions and guitars than you can imagine. This is something that would be impossible for him to do without the financial help as his Mom and Dad do not have the means. I got tired of watching him waste his time on video games and computer. He is a good kid, kind of shy but thoughtful and kind, and about to enter the difficult teen years. He is a good looking boy and the girls love him. I wanted to give him something that would last a lifetime, and would give him a sense of identity and competence. It turns out he really loves guitar, so I would like to usher him on.

I guess it is a case of "it's more blessed to give than receive." It sure blesses me.

I have played both. I am partial to the Classic Vibe series. In my opinion a better guitar. Of course I did play them both at the guitar shop along with a dozen other Squiers and Fender Stratocasters. It was the CV 60 that came home with me.

I am not sure what his musical interests are, but may I suggest the Fender Blacktop series as well. With cyber Monday and all I am sure you could find one for at least 10 percent off. Looking at 404.90-ish dollars.

Regardless on what you do, I think it is great that you are doing this for him. Music is a great outlet for learning a lot of different life lessons. Awesome!!!
