The current speaker size of 6" is max, the cabinet is not tall enough for an 8" speaker and still have adequate separation between components.

If you are using it as a practice amp, or as a recording amp miked from a separate room it is quite loud enough, but as a band combo," No", it doesn't have enough power to play in a club but for band practice where overall loudness could be a problem but rest of band matches the champs levels, it is a great little amp.
I compare my 600 to my other small amp, a 62 Magnatone, The Champ covers the clean country sound and a country rock dirty sound where the Magnatone is much grittier and cannot ring clean as the Fender.

You may want to try this thread on the Modern Amp section of the Forum for more responses.

Hi michaelusastrat22,

You can unplug the internal speaker and plug in an external cab of 4 ohms or more. I've used mine with a 12 inch 8 ohm speaker, and it sounded much louder and richer than with the internal 6 inch speaker.

Por favor, disculpe mi español, no se llega a la práctica con mucha frecuencia.

For a cheap option, go for Webber Alnico Signature 6" speaker, theyre only $45 bucks, you can choose from early breakup, medium breakup and later breakup speakers, whatever suits your needs. I would go for NOS tubes in there also, or at least some JJs.

Ive seen an 8 inch speaker stuffed into a few on other guitar forums. It requires spacers on the chassis and also the speaker has to be offset to the side a little. Apparently, its totally worth it, and I plan on doing it to mine.
