I agree with Niki, if a person was going to use the super switch for a standard strat switching, it makes no sense. So I am thinking that illustration was used to show the switch in it's most basic mode. Some people do not know that there are actually 2 Super Switches. A single wafer and dual waffer. The single waffer is a 5-lug 2-pole and is used on such guitars as the Strat Ultra and the James Burton 3-pickup Telecasters:

And then the dual wafer is a 5-lug 4-pole switch as shown by Andy.

The dual wafer switches can do a ton of things. I use them on a 2-pickup Telecaster to create 5 different tones. One has to cut the ground wire on the neck pickup so to isolate the ground from the + and - sides of the windings. One gets these switching options by doing this:

Position 1) The bridge pickup.
Position 2) The bridge pickup and the neck pickup out-of-phase. This gives that unique nasal Strat sound.
Position 3) The bridge pickup and the neck pickup in parallel, as a stock Tele in the middle position. on a 3-way switch.
Position 4) The neck and bridge pickups wired in series— fat, full, Gibson-ish sound.
Position 5) The neck pickup.

Hi X man!

I wish i had one of those 2 blade Super Switches when i was wiring the S-1 with the Clapton mid-boost.

As you can see the lower blades aren't needed and with the extra space I would have saved I could have fitted the 9v battery in between the switch and the S-1 pot. Still there's always next time. :D

 Here's something to think about: A transducer fixed to the tremolo claw and wired to the Super Switch for "on-board reverb" upon demand.

:P :P :P

Nice diagram Andy!
But how 5 Way Super Switch works in pair with S1 (push-pull)?

P.S. Can you help me to solve this?
