I agree with you I have especially taken a hankering to the Fender Roadhouse Deluxe MIM model. No matter where it is made I love the way it feels and plays. It is white with a marble pick guard, maple neck, and I believe a maple body.

Never was a big fan of white guitars in my teenage years, but now, I don't think there's a guitar sexier than a white strat with a tortoise pickguard and a maple fretboard.

Sunburst's and tranlucent's

Always thought they looked very contrived. Like the builder was trying in some way to make the thing look like a acoustic guitar, when theres absolutely no need. The best thing to ever happen to Fender was dupont.
Am slowly coming round to the idea of 2 tone sunburst's and even own one. I just don't look at it much.

No accounting for tastes eh?

For a while I wasnt a huge fan of any sunburst but I like it more now. Might get a strat in sunburst.
Not much for a black strat with a maple neck in terms of looks.
I think I like white and sunburst the most now. Which is funny because 2 years ago they would've been my least favorite.

I have a sunburst Jey Reynolds. I love it. Sunburst is my all time favorite. It is hard for the experts to age your guitar because the Sun Burst design has been going strong for decades. An Expert can look at a Blue guitar, or Green and tell you what decade it was made.
