I just put new strings on my Strat, no Fender strings cause the guy at the shop said these ones would keep the right tuning longer.

I get this rattling sound if I hit my strings hard (wich I tend to do a lot).
It seems like the strings touch a fret around the 11th I think.

Is this what they call a fretting string? or is this a buzz?
And how can I fix it?

It sounds like you might need to adjust the truss rod.

Did you put a different gauge of string on? And if so you will need to do some set up adjustments. If the string is fretting out it will not go away with time. The only way to fix it is to do a new set up for the new gauge of strings.

Y Ive gone to a smaller gauge now (mistake though, I like the resistance of acoustic strings too much I guess).
But since the strings are thinner, I figured they take less space and thus should rattle less than the previous, thicker ones...

Is raising my bridge saddle the solution?
and If so: how to do this? O_o
