I ordered this strat . I am a sucker for blue. I think this is a cool FSR too. pretty much has everything I want. I didn't even know this existed. found it by accident.

Yeah but that doesn´t apply to Fender brand as far as I know. Most promotions on online stores does not apply to the most popular brands.
But if you´re looking for a great deal on a new strat can´t beat this one from MusiciansFriends.
Its a FSR American Standard with Vintage Noiseless TBX Tone and Active Mid Boost for 999 !

Joaokorb,

I need to talk to you as soon as possible. I'm considering buying a 1998 american deluxe strat, but the possibility of importing one of the 20 special edition is much more interesting. There are only 5 left at Sweetwater. Please, get in touch with me!

I´m all ears mate. Personally I dont quite like the deluxe series, the extra bells ans wristles dont make my mind. That FSR run has owned me cause of the modern features plus Texas Special pups and locking tuners, and the Limited neck plate of course. All-in-all its all about personal taste, and by that this FSR owned me.

good post with all FSR strats. I got the sonic blue strat.
What kind of pickups do you guys suppose are in that one? website says 3 Vintage single-coil pickups with Alnico V magnets.
Are those pickups in any other american strat? The vintage 57 american stratocaster has 3 American Vintage pickups. I wonder if they are the same.
I am excited about all the specs. Thin skin...sonic blue...pearloid pickguard.

Well, all those incredible guitars make me crazy.

This one is a dream to me:

I'm considering the american deluxe in that link for two reasons:

1. It's half the price of a new one.

2. I want to avoid the "traditional" stratocaster pickup hum, since I'm addicted to distortion.

Well, I was correct that my wife did get me a guitar. It looks like it is a 2004 or newer, Sienna Burst, HSS American Standard with an S switch. It also has Seymour Duncan Lil 59's in all 3 positions and came with the original pups as well. I will post pics soon, but she is pretty amazing...and so is the guitar :)
