I hope that this isn't the wrong place for this but has anyone found any good deals on Strats this Friday? I know that GC is running 15% off any item over $500 but that isn't exactly earth shattering.

Yeah but that doesn´t apply to Fender brand as far as I know. Most promotions on online stores does not apply to the most popular brands.
But if you´re looking for a great deal on a new strat can´t beat this one from MusiciansFriends.
Its a FSR American Standard with Vintage Noiseless TBX Tone and Active Mid Boost for 999 !

http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/prod ... sku=423641

I´ve bought a few weeks ago a FSR American Standard from Sweetwater with Texas Specials, Locking Tuners and Mercedes Blue color for 1199 ! I´ts a Limited Edition of 20 only, 7 left!

that's a good deal, Musician's Friend is asking $900 right now.
Sam Ash is great, last time I bought from them, they called a few days after delivery (from FedEx), to make sure I was person that received delivery and then about a month later, they sent a coupon for $50, good for anything $50 and up. Only reason I don't buy from them more often is that they charge tax for online orders in NY, and I live on Long Island.

FWIW....I wouldn't buy so much as a guitar pick from Daddy's.

I got a quote from them on trading in a very nice VOX valvetronics amp. When I got to the store (with quote in hand) they wanted to give me less money for the amp. I was told it wasn't in "like new" condition because I didn't have the original box and manual. In turn they wanted to sell me a fender super vibro xd amp that was a floor model. When I asked for one in the box, I was told that the floor model was the only one they had in stock. When I asked where the box and manual were, I was told "I don't know". Of course, at that point I argued that since they didn't have the box or the manual for the Fender amp, that they weren't selling me a new amp and that their floor model had probably been played by dozens of more people than the VOX I wanted to trade in. They argued that the Fender amp was indeed new. I argued that they had no manual, no box, and it was a floor model and had definitely been played, making it used. I told them, "stick your amp, I'll never purchase another piece of gear here again". Went to GC and got a better deal on a Fender Super Champ XD. I'm sure the vibro champ was a nice amp. It was the idea of the whole deal and they way they were trying to do business. Just put a bad taste in my mouth.

Should have asked them what the going price is for a manual and a box.

I just ordered the fender FSR American stratocaster with TBX and Midboost today. I got the additional 15% off of their sale price at Musician friend. so, I got a sweet deal on the Blizzard pearl. Does anyone know if the pearl color has metallic flakes similar to the Olympic pearl color in Deluxe strats?
I found that strat because it was mentioned on this forum. So I checked it out and got a great deal. Thanks
