If you drop a strat in water, will it float?

Im interested whether if it does float, if it floats horizontally or vertically too.

I think to be a true test you should test both nitro and poly finishes combined with both vintage and two point trems.

String gauge could also be an important factor.

However, tone fairies cannot swim so in either case your tone will suffer.

Yep I believe it would float. It's wood that's completely dried out. So yep. Probably would float. So is it flooding at your house or what?

Well i had an arguement with a friend the other day saying if our ship sank, the fenders and possibly the ibanezes would be alright, But all the gibsons would sink.

We were on the edge about Ibanezes because they're pointy and have less body mass but have much wider necks

As for gibson we're confident they'll sink.

My 1950s Les Paul floats neck down in the pool.
This sounds like a conversation that may have started after a few cold ones late at night.

I think Gibson guys already know the answer to that question... or they tried to "relic" some gibbys in a very unusual way...
