Hello Everyone. My name is Brannon and I am a brand new member here. I purchased my first Stratocaster a couple weeks back and I cant wait to play it. You see, I am stuck in Afghanistan while my new guitar waits for me at home. I can't explain how bad this hurts. I need to get home.

I have some friends that are Strat nuts and I'm sure there are plenty nuts on this forum. My nuts suggested that first thing I should do is to buy a Callaham block and and install a bone nut. I've ordered the block and it'll be home when I get there. I do know that I will need a good/real Luthier to install the nut properly. Speaking to my nuts about a Luthier in South central got me nowhere because they are not from my neck of the woods. A search on the internet revealed a few leads but most of the listings are left over from the hurricane and stores/shops are gone. Outdated lists.

Does anyone out there know of a Luthier in Louisiana? Or know a way of searching for them with updated info? I am in South Central LA in a town called Lafayette. Any bits of info would be much appreciated.

Thanks for reading my post!

HEY BRO!

Bought my first strat about 2 years ago now. Have several now. I don't know what type you bought MIA (made in America) MIM (made in Mexico) but you really don't need to do anything to them to enjoy them and get a good sound up front. There are lots of tweeks that make them nicer but don't be in a hurry.

I am from South Louisiana myself, I live in north Louisiana now. I don't know of any luthiers in particular but I am sure there are some in New Orleans still.

You will get home! thanks for doing your duty!

OL
