Hello once again folks!

I recently took a gamble buying an axe online and it appears as though it has payed off for me. I'd like to introduce my first ever Custom Shop guitar:

She's a 1996 '57 stratocaster NOS in what I think is a really nice shade of shell pink.

I'm really lost for words on this one. The quality of this guitar is nothing short of fantastic - I LOVE this neck! Very buttery. I'm also very pleased with the Custom 50's pups.

Herd pic: (because who doesn't like pictures?)

Back row, from left: MIM Classic 50's pbass, Highway One Strat w/ SCN's , '57 Strat NOS
Front row, from left: MIM '72 Tele Custom, 1962 Musicmaster, NOS Tweed Blues Jr

I'm 22 years old and am in my final year of earning a Bachelor of Science degree(in Biological Sciences) at the University of Manitoba. To have amassed such a collection over the years all the while putting myself through school makes me very proud of the guitars that I've been earned. I make $12.66/hr at my job - that's a LOT of time put in to afford all of these things, but hard work pays off.

Thanks for popping in! 8)

That's a fine collection, Toronado.

Now all you need is a L** P*** or two and you're on your way!

Rawk on!

Very Nice! It has been quite some time since I've seen a Strat in shell pink. And that has got to be one of the single nicest flamed necks I've ever seen.

Have you any idea as to the builder or builders names?

Mid 90's were a golden era for CS guitars and thats a beaut.

I actually have no idea. John Page was running the show at the time. Perhaps I'll give customer relations a call and see what they can tell me on the subject.

Toronado...

Well done, nice herd, is that a reissue 62 Musicmaster or an original ?

This intrigues me as to the difference between a 56 NOS ( which i have ) and a 57 NOS ?

Hello, 53Magnatone! That's an original Musicmaster. Around that time the Musicmaster and Duo Sonic were most available in Desert Sand, but that finish (commonly referred to as "Maroonburst") was offered for only a few years. They're really the only affordable pre-CBS Fenders you can get anymore.

As for any difference between the '57 and '56, even I'm fooled. The '56 is definitely popular by the looks of it. The COA that came with mine simply says "1957 Stratocaster". Oh well :)

My COA says " 1956 Stratocaster NOS" I did find out that it originally belonged to a Fender Rep. in these neck of the woods.Image
