Hi everybody,
After spending soooo much time looking around for my new strat since I sold my 2008 Am. Std. Sienna Sunburst rosewood , I found the other day a very good 2009 American Deluxe V neck 2 tone sunburst Strat ( SCN, not N3 )in a very good price for Greece. She is new and I'm eager to see her here and take of her protective covers and smell it !!! MMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmhhhhhh..... I hope I did the right thing. I'll post pics when I get her. Oh, just to mention. The 2008 Am. Std was a FANTASTIC guitar and I was lucky to have one with THE PERFECT GRAIN as you can see in photos I posted before, but I wanted to try 1.Maple, 2.V-neck, 3.The ultimate rocking 2-tone sb, 4.Feel the smell of new baby wood in my house !!! Owners of the deluxe v neck please send some photos to see as I'm waiting...
Greetings from Greece !!!

Dang, and I thought this thread was about a mail order bride!

You're going to love this guitar. The Am Deluxe is a great great axe! Enjoy.

These are taken with iphone and are not so clean, will put more.
Now questions:
1. In my x ( 2008 American Std ) there are where 2 long keys and 4 short ones. Now in my deluxe it's 3-3. Is this a problem or this is how it should be ?
2. While rehearsing today I heard some ticking noise 3-4 times coming from the neck pocket. Is this worrying ? Should I screw a bit more the 4-bolt thing ? I should add here that the guitar is new and not used.
3. Found the neck a bit sticky. Should it be like that ? I mean surely it's not as in my x. It doesn't bother me alot, but I want to know what is happening.

Anyway she sounds amazing. Not so vintage, but has a character and I think the best word to describe it is the "modern" strat soundwise. Many combinations, light, nice v, NO HUM AT ALL, very nice bridge, and seems nicely and carefully constructed. A great instrument. As people say , you can't go wrong with a fender...

For #3 you can buy some #0000 steel wool and rub the back of the neck down. That should help get rid of the sticky feeling.

Hey Petro,

Cool looking strat, congrats
Answers
1. 3 long and 3 short is how DLX comes. I have a 07 standard and I have changed it from 2 long and 4 short to 3 and 3. I found a short D string post a problem with larger wound strings (i use .11) which allow only one post turn. If I had a string winded more than once it would cause tunning instability on that D string.

2. Try to tighten the four neck screws and then tighten the micro tilt screw, since it might be flooping loose in there.

3. Clean the neck first, you would not believe how much residue is left after people sweat. If that does not do it #0000 steel wool should do it.

Hope that helps
