Hi jsalerno,

A particular Factory Special Run model is normally only available with certain colors and options at that specific retailer, many of each FSR are made. Many retailers will have FSRs with special colors/options, but each will have their own unique combination. The one that you are looking at will be available only there. Without having seen it, $499 sounds like what most MIM FSR would sell for. You could post a link so that we can see it too. :D It should look something like this link that is inside the code box.

Code:
[url]http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Fender-FSR-Standard-Stratocaster-Vintage-Noiseless-Ash-Electric-Guitar?sku=620784[/url]

So that it will come out like this.

http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Fender-FSR-Standard-Stratocaster-Vintage-Noiseless-Ash-Electric-Guitar?sku=620784

If that is the one, it looks very nice, worth the $ IMO. :D

That looks like a smokin' hot deal on new. I purchase a 2004 deluxe player and paid more. This actually looks cooler than mine and I love the vintage noiseless pups.

Geez - I had to go back and look at that baby again!

The FSR American Standard has the active TBX/MDX (Clapton Mid Boost) circuitry for a wider tonal palette ranging from sparkling shimmering clean to fat dirty overdrive. Active electronics are powered by a 9V battery located on a special compartment routed in the back of the body.

I would save for the 999 american version fsr. I just bought a FSR with locking tuners, limited neck plate, texas specials and mercedes blue color on sweetwater for 1199, now I´m thinking if I should have saved the 200 bucks over this american fsr with vintage noiseless. Aldo that VN FSR doesnt got a 2 point trem.

I played one at a Guitar Center and it was a lot heavier (weightwise) than I expected...probably northern ash...I'd guess about 8.75 lbs approx...it sounded good through the Mustang amp that I was checking out.
