Cordialement.

Voici des photos.

To All reading this thread,

I have taken the liberty to translate this post for those of us who do not speak french, following my response.

Hello to all,

Newbie to the forum, seeking aid.
I am owner of a MIJ strat 1993-1994.
On the headstock was printed Squier series but the previous owner sanded that section away, pity.
On the neck butt is stamped MIJ serial 0009814

Disassembled on the neck heel is : FEII-STM (see pics)

My question : is this a real Fender or Squier ?

I have read much info relating to this, but nothing specific.

In any case, she rings out and enchants me each day ( english never does justice to french)

Thank You in advance for more precise info, as I am at odds!

Cordially

Here are the photos

Tres bien,

I wasn't sure if you were bilingual, so I translated for those who cannot.

The Squier series from Mexico is definitely Fender, as I suspect is the Japanese Squier Series.
They (The Mexican Squier Series guitars) were produced shortly after Fender sent the Squier factory setup to the far east and took over the Ensenada Mexico factory.
They were built using left over Squier hardware (tuners, pickups, bridge, etc) and American cut bodies and necks. The Ensenada factory did not start cutting wood until 1998 (I think).

Sorry I can't be more specific about the Japanese Squier Series guitars. I can only surmise that they were the product of similar factory moves. Maybe when the Squier factory moved from Japan to Indonesia.

OK, a slightly free translation, but I think the English just about matches up. Eat your hearts out, Chrétien de Troyes and Marie de France.

I jest. And your English and French are better than I shall ever be in either, 53magnatone. 8)

...Erm, I have nothing useful to offer regarding MIJ Squiers...

Cheers - C

I must have been dreaming I was in Lord of the Rings: my wife says I've been Tolkien in my sleep...

Er, but no: in fact I've been nowhere near LOTR. But I have read the French authors previously named moderately carefully.

Hello,
I see that it has humor on this forum, the better.
And yes, the French expressions can be bizarre.

I wait still the opinion of one member on my guitar.
I will modify this guitar this weekend and will post pictures later.

Good day everyone.

Regards.

I notice that the pickguard is not original (note the currently unused pickguard mouting hole).

I do love the humour on this forum!

You have a point: c'est juste.
