I strongly doubt they are anywhere near the AVRI ranges quality.

They used to, but their quality has slipped significantly in recent years. For a "budget" neck, you're better off with an Allparts IMO.

Just curious. I'm gonna buy some parts and put together a strat. Gonna try to do it for under a $1000.

Most of mine never topped a grand, to include a period-correct G&G HSC.

You shouldn't have any problem, even when using premium parts.

When referring to premium parts, what company would that be? I have been looking at putting together a Warmoth strat and just using the hardware from an American Special. Would Warmoth be considered premium?

Hi Drock2k1: very much so.

And to bshane84: I guess you get what you pay for, and MightyMite are mostly towards the lower end of the market, pricewise. But though I've heard people slamming them, personally I've used several of their necks over the years and found them absolutely good, well made and reliable. No issues whatsoever.

Was I lucky or did I just match my expectations to the price being paid? Who knows...

Good luck - C

That company would be Fender -- MIA hardware, MIA pickups, MIA electronics, MIJ or MIM body, MIJ or MIM neck, and Fender-made plastic parts. Kluson Deluxe repro tuners as per original vintage guitars.

This home-cloned '63 replica cost slightly less than $800, including the black Tolex HSC. And it's all Fender.

HAHAHA... yeah, NO. If that were true, there wouldn't be a multi-billion dollar industry catering specifically to Fender (and Gibson) owners for "upgrades". Outside of the Custom Shop/Masterbuilt guitars I'd be careful putting 'premium' and 'Fender' in the same sentence, unless you're talking the prices they charge. To each his own... I'm just sayin'.

ORC

You're saying nothing, pal.

I'm not talking about MIK ceramic pickups, pot-metal bridges from Taiwan, junk electronics from Malaysia, or basswood bodies from some no-name sheister.

I generally use the same components that the CS in Corona uses.

And few of those companies manufacturing "upgrades" really are. Two exceptions would be Callaham and Fralin.

A little sensitive are we? I don't recall talking about or even mentioning you. Since when does Fender start becomming "I" or "I'm"? Narcissitic much?

Hey thats a nice looking strat. I bet it feels and sounds just like you want it huh? That's awesome. Thanks for the advice man. And thanks to you other guys too. I greatly appreciate it. Its nice to get advice from people. The process of trial and error can get expensive when trying to find or build the perfect strat. Maybe I'm too picky huh?

I paid a handsome price to learn what works and what doesn't, bshane. I'm happy to share that knowledge gratis as will many others here on the forum, should you ask.

Best of luck, HTH
