Start with a Deluxe Reverb RI or Super Reverb RI with a Fulltone OCD pedal up front. That should get you started......

I want to buy my first strat. Would it be better to find a used one online or just go to the local guitar store and buy a new one?

Welcome blacktopstrat!

I'm with the others that said try before you buy. Did you choose your username because you want a blacktop series Strat...if so go play one and also try some other models. You will eventually play one that just feels and sounds right for you.

Good luck!

Just bought a blues junior III amp online, to go along with Fender strategy classic 50. I've. Never played guitar ; so I guess I'm jumping in with both feet.
