I played am awesome vintage guitar today. It's made just like a strat. The guy had it custom made by Boogie Body guitars back in the mid or early 60's. It weighed as much or more than a Les Paul. I've never felt any guitar that felt as good as this one. It played easy as hell. The owner is about 65 years old and he's been playing gigs with this guitar since he was young. He said he'd sell me the guitar for 1000 dollars. Does anyone know if there's any value to old Boogie Body custom made guitars. Thats the information he gave me on it. It looked really old. It had a birds eye maple neck on it. The fret wires on it were worn down to almost completely flat.

I believe that Boogie Body Guitars was started by Lynn Ellsworth in the mid-1970s. The Warmoth company was a spin-off of it (IIRC).

That's some info that you should be able to Google for even more info.

I think Fender Custom Shop's Mike Eldred (in the "Ask Mike" forum) could give you some info on that company.
