I just picked up my new Blacktop Strat and it is amazing. I got it in Sonic Blue and I begged my wife for weeks to get it. She agreed to get it for as an early X-mas gift and it totally rocks. I am definitely an amateur player, but the difference in the sound between it and my other Strat HSS is amazing. I got it home, plugged it in and started playing some AC/DC. My wife asked if that was the new guitar and she even said it sounded different and much better. This is a totally sweet guitar and worth the $450, especially if you play hard rock/metal.

Wow, that looks awesome! First time I have seen anything but Strat knobs on a Strat that I actually liked! Very cool guitar!

MIM mate. Korea only applies for Squier series.

Thanks for information for blacktop series origin
it is generally correct that Korea applies for Squire series
but Fender sometimes have " special run" models
made in Korea which are real Fenders (not Squire)
such as the Fender Koa series, Lite Ash series & Aerodyne series.

I am really impressed with this line, and the price is the icing on the cake. I cannot wait until I can take one of thes babys home myself. I finally talked my CFO into letting me have one. I told her it was either trade in for this, or rebuild my CV 60 Statocaster into a HH guitar. After showing her the price for whole new electronics and parts, she was more than happy to let me buy a new one in the near future. I just hope Fender does not discontinue them or decide to jack the price up before I can get one home.
