Post subject: which bridge/spacing do i need??

so i have a MIM body with a USA special neck with nut installed
im guessing i need to install a bridge with USA spacing
is this correct?

Not necessarily. If your body has MIM pilot holes for the bridge go with that config. It will not affect the slot positioning on the nut

yes the holes are there but the body is bare right now..was just checking which bridge id need to install..so id be right to order one with mexican string spacing and the USA neck/nut wouldnt need to be adjusted? thanks for your help

If your body is a MIM "Standard" and the holes are already drilled, chances are the correct bridge for a drop-on fit is the vintage style with "modern" 2-1/16" string spacing. If your MIM body is one of the '50s, '60s, or '70s Classic models or a Jimmy Vaughn signature, or Deluxe series, those guitars use the vintage-style bridge with "traditional" 2-7/32" string spacing.

ohhhh..i just didnt know if new holes for a new bridge needed to be drilled given that i have a us neck with a mex body..was confused about the string spacing

The neck has nothing to do with string spacing or the type of bridge.
