Here's a list of $200-$300 amps: http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/navi ... 7c0&rpp=20

Read the specs. Try them out at your local guitar store until you find one that inspires you.

This is your initiation into G.A.S. (guitar/gear acquisition syndrome). There is no turning back! bwahahaha :P

People say some good things about the Marshall Class 5, which is a $400 amp brand new. You might be able to find cheaper on Ebay. It's a tube amp, and pretty dang loud, according to reviews.

So if you don't have a place to play loudly, it might not be up your alley. I think a Strat and a Marshall are a beautiful pair. Good luck!

And you are definitely a true believer, if digging through the trash for your Fender goodies. 8)

And ofcourse, who wouldn't dig through the garbage for that? 8)

Just got my strat back, I decided to name it "Harry".
The string height feels a lot better now, though I thought I heard some buzz. I'm gonna try it out with an amp first though, before I can be sure there's some buzz.

I figured I'd post some pics, and forgive the horrid quality. I used my Iphone.

Yeah I've tried vox amps before, they're for sure decent. Although I will have to go to a store pretty soon and compare a few of them and make up my mind, been ill the last few days tho. So until I get well I'll "collect" ideas and tips.
