Two weeks ago i bought my AVRI 57 from a dealer on ebay. I paid 1,499 for it. (thats without shipping costs). I have it for sale on ebay because I want an American 62 reissue hot rod strat. The guitar is new it has the tweed case and all the paperwork. Do any of you guys know about what this guitar is worth. I probably should have asked this before I listed it but oh well. What do you guys think? Theres some clearer pctures of it on this forum too under "pics of my AVRI 57".

Yeah, $1250 sounds about right. You might be asked to go a little lower due to the fact the economy sucks but you should be able to at least nab $1000. I paid $1200 for mine a year or two ago and it was in mint condition, same finish and everything.

Yeah well I like the hot rod necks with the flatter radius and bigger fret bars. If it doesn't sell I'm gonna change the neck and keep it. Will a vintage 62 hot rod neck fit on it? I hope so.

I can't see why bought this guitar in the first place if you don't like the vintage appointments.

Well It's not really that I don't like them. It's just I like the more modern appointments better. I kinda don't want to sell it but I cant keep it and afford to buy another one. I didn't know alot about radius's and bigger frets and all that until after I had bought it. I've played some with modern necks on em now and compared em and there is definately a difference. I should've done my research before I bought it huh? May end up keeping it and changing the neck. I bought the guitar off of ebay and I didn't play it before I bought it.

I love vintage frets. People say you can't bend on them... I find that to be ridiculous.

I find bigger frets = speed bumps. Not that I like playing fast or anything.

They're pretty easy to bend on actually.

So what don't you like about
the neck?

I like the bigger fret bars better than the vintage ones.

Absolutely agree with you on that, any difference is negligable at best.

Did Hendrix ever have any problem bending on small frets/ smaller radius boards.

It's just another nonsense made up to sell guitars.
