Hello, new member here, very glad to be finally apart of the Fender family.
I recently bought a Road Worn 60's Olympic White Strat' for about 600$. It was rarely played so I made a good deal.
I was fascinated by the quality of the instrument but i wanted to upgrade the pickups. Any suggestion?

I spotted the 56' and 69' as well as the 57/62 vintage pickups.

I'm looking for an agressive vintage tone and a crisp clean sound. What would you suggest me?

I was looking for a new pickguard too. That yellow isn't interesting to me anymore. I thought about mint green or mint green vintage. Do you guys buy it straight from Fender or do you buy unofficial one's? I find this guitar highly interesting: http://d.pr/EvsN

Is that mint green?

I'm sorry for all those questions haha.
Thanks in advance.

My tip to you. If you dont like the Tex-Mex pickups that came with your RoadWorn, put the Custom Shop '69 in it. Yeah mint green pickguard will complete that vintage vibe on your strat!

Cheers!

Obrigado amigo lusobrasileiro :)

Should I buy one straight from Fender (high price imo) or one from another reseller and not official, but with a smaller price?

Look for a used pickguard that was a "take-off" from a MIM classic '60s re-issue or the Robert Cray signature model. Those examples use a more restrained "mint" than the stand-alone Fender accessory pickguards which look terrible IMO.

If the guitar is not already so equipped, you'll find that the addition of a steel trem block will put some additional "chime" into the tone and marginally increase the sustain.

All of the Fender CS pickups sound great IMO -- that will be a tough call to make.

HTH

No. Like this......

This one was "recycled" from a Robert Cray.

Not anywhere near the "vomit/mint" of the accessory pickguards.

Great call! I put a Callaham on mine, made a very nice improvement (replaced the whole bridge). After the bridge improvement, I really like the Tex-Mex pickups a lot, no need to change them now. :D

Boa sorte!
Lembranças do Brazil!

PS: Sorry about the portuguese, sometimes it´s nice to talk in your own language.
