I just wanted to put a note out about the excellent setup I received from our resident space alien. I was never quite happy with my Sherwood Green project strat that I built earlier this year, and so I hardly played it. I thought it looked nice, but that was about it. I also had not installed string trees after a mishap with the tuner screws. I noticed that the nut slots were not deep enough and the strings were too high off the fretboard causing tuning issues. I do much of my own setups, but I really don't go near the nut or the frets as a rule.

So I turned it over to Martian for a setup. Right away he noticed my neck had significantly more bow than I realized. So he fixed the nut, adjusted the truss rod. Fixed the shim I had in the neck pocket, and installed 1 string tree for the high E and B. As a bonus and for no extra charge, he also beveled the holes in my pickguard so that the screws would mount flush. The action and intonation are spot on and it now plays and sounds like a dream.

I could not be happier with the setup and I now can not put this guitar down. I would totally recommend Martian if you're looking for a quality setup!

Think I may beam over and get my guitar done.

Of course, I'll be able to get a sneaky go on the Fratocaster whilst I'm there.

Way cool!

Too bad your so far away Martian...I'd have you look into why my Strat seems to buzz on the "B" string.

Try gently pushing down on the string at the nut on the headstock side while plucking the string. If the buzz goes away, the pitch of the nut cut for that string has to be steepened.

Well can I just act furtive and pretend I'm being sneaky?

Forbidden fruit and all that.
