I like alder better for the ressonance sounding. Did you thought about a Fender Special Run American Standard ? Try looking for them at sweetwater and proguitarshop ! You´d be amazed !

That´s the one I got. Love her!

And how do you like a Natural finish ? This one got the Texas Specials as well and staggered tuners.

I just bought an American 57 Reissue and now I have it for sale on ebay. I rushed in to the purchase because I loved the color of the guitar and the looks of this guitar. It plays well and sounds great. However after I bought it I went and played on a strat with a flatter neck and bigger frets. Thats why I now have my AVRI for sale. For me theres a pretty big difference in the playability of a vintage stle neck with vintage size frets and a more modern neck with bigger frets. Take your time like the guy earlier said. Play as many as you can, I wish I had done so. We live and learn though. I spent 1,500 on my AVRI and I'm pretty sure I'm gonna lose a couple hundred when I sell it.

olelancucki, the 09 and 10 models are the same, maybe different colors but otherwise the same. :)

If I may, look at the American Deluxe strat, Cherry sunburst colors or two tone sunburst, with the SI switch they are also quite versatile sound wise, vintage to modern sounds but none of the vintage idiosyncracies.

At least it is worth a comparison..
