It really depends on your taste.
I still have a highway one 2009 all stock.
I would never trade it for a epiphone. Not even a Gib LP Studio. Still as I said, a matter of taste. I really dont like LPs. Lets say when I have already about 4 strat I will make a think of getting a les paul by gibson not epi.
You gotta put some thinking on this, the look of the EPI is very appealling, but still is an EPI. What you have in your hands right now is a Fender Stratocaster made in the USA.

All in all, I saw youve changed all the pups on the highway, so I can imagine you like a more darker sound and humbuckers, and the strats mostly were born to be singlecoiled guitars. And as people say "Let a strat be a strat".

Now lets say yes, you like humbuckers and dont want to play with singlecoils, so the strat is really no use for your taste, still I would look for a Gibson LP Studio instead of and Epi.

Just my toughts. Hope it helps.

Nah, not ever for a 3 pickup LP. It's lost it's best sound in the center position of the selector switch. You get some ropey middle+bridge. Once you get fed up of it, you can't take the pickup out without leaving a gaping hole in the body.

Hang out with your strat for a few more days. You´ll see its just a GAS attack and it will pass on.

If you ask the same question over on the Epi site they will tell you to trade, here it's keep the Hwy1.

I have an Epi LP plus top sunburst & the hwy1 and love em both, they are both good guitars, you'll just have to sit down & think the pros & cons. & not listen to others to much.

PS I have 3 Epi's & 3 Fenders & I enjoy them all!
good luck!

There is no way I would do that. Trading for a Les Paul Studio Faded would be more fair. As long as it is a good one. There are great ones and duds.

If the Les Paul had two pickups I'd say yes, but with three no.

I would in a heartbeat. Nothing wrong with Epi's at all. Buckers don't belong on Strats anyway IMO. The Highway One never did it for me. It's all personal taste. I have a bunch of different guitars. They're only tools for me. They all expand my sonic pallet to some degree.

If you like it, get it. Don't worry about what people say here. We don't have to play it, you do. If it suits your style just do it.

I'm looking at a 1960 Limited Edition Epi that's coming out in about a week. If I get the deal I want, it's mine. The thing is loaded with Gibson Burstbuckers, Mallory 150 Caps, and a Switchcraft toggle switch. It even has the blood tester pointers on the knobs. It's limited to 1,960 guitars.

No way man. Not an American Strat for an Epiphone. No way. That strat is 20 times more guitar than that epi is. You will be gettin screwed if you trade.

Yeah, I thought about a Les Paul as well for a few months. Got a Highway 2009 myself Sunburst/Maple SSS. I was GASsing for a Gibson Les Paul 50´s Tribute Studio. But in the end I drop some more cash into it and got this:

http://www.fender.com/community/forums/viewtopic.php?t=44771

Let me say Im happy for the decision not to get that LP, It was a beauty honeyburst, but Im certain that with time It would be just holding my doors.
