Hi everyone I just won a fender squier strat, affinity series. I dont know a hell of a lot about guitars but it is signed by all of the members of bon jovi this is why I entered the comp in the first place because I love bon jovi. I have been told that there was only 100 of this type of guitar made this guitar is number 24 of the 100. Was wonderng if anyone could tell me how I could get more information about the guitar. Thank you x

Thanks for your reply, no it was'nt an online contest it was a radio contest, I would love to be able to find out more about the guitar is all, the signatures make it extra special so it is going in a glass case for that reason. Thanks again :D

The value of the signatures is more than the value of the guitar.

+1

The Affinity series is the low-end model of Squier.
All you need to know about Squier Affinity Strats is right here: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&sour ... q&gs_rfai=

Affinity's are popular for using for signatures. Just do a search on ebay for 'autographed guitar'. They are cheap and marketing people figured out they can sell it high once a signature is on it and make a big profit. Not a lot invested into a $180 guitar and a Sharpie.

Where do you see yours is #24 of 100? A pic would sure help figure this out. Maybe Bon Jovi signed 100 of these guitars as a promo for radio station giveaways and they were distributed around the country. You were the lucky winner for your local station. Congrats! Now buy another guitar to play :P

The Guitar itself is not rare, but it is 1 of 100 with Bon Jovi signatures. The COA helps to verify the signatures and that is where to value comes in.

That is very cool! If I were you I would keep it put away safe in a gigbag at least and, get youself another guitar to play on that you can beat on without having to worry about degrading it. If you do this sir, in time this guitar will grow in value. The certificate is something else to protect as well. Nice score!

the autgraphs are definately where the value lies. Affinity Squires are the cheapest of the cheap in terms of their price range.

It definately makes sense that the marketing types who would get a guitar autographed to give away in a contest would use this model.

Usually the only time you'll ever see a high end model with autographs is when someone bought the guitar then brought it to a show or autograph signing.

I have an aquaintence who toured North America and Europe between the mid 90's and early 2000's in a blues band. He had a Gibson ES335 that he took everywhere and got it autographed by every music legend his band shared a stage with. Autographs on it included Les Paul, BB King, Buddy Guy, Hubert Sumlin just name a few. About 20 autographs on it. I would love to see the money he could get for that guitar when he's done with it if he decided to auction it off.
