Is it possible to buy authentic Fender Strat headstock logos to replace destroyed ones or to put on rebuilds etc?

I imagine there are legal issues involved.

You can either contact Fender and go through the proper channel that way or buy repro logos of eBay.

I read in one of the forums that genuine Fender headstock logos are sold only to Fender authorized repair technicians and only after a review process that certifies:

a. That there is a real need to replace the logo and

b. That the logo will be placed on a genuine Fender guitar.

I wish I could remember which forum I read this, but it sounds beleivable from a legal standpoint.

They sell them in the classified ads in Vintage Guitar magazine.

It fairly easy these days to make these, so counterfeits are more plentiful than the real thing. Be careful what you buy, because your real strat deserves an authentic logo :D
