I'm hesitant to give it back. I love to play it and I have I found out that they are expensive guitars due to it's age. I'd likely never have one like this to play again.

Then tell him if he can think of any arrangement you can come to in order to inherit the guitar including cash then consider it. But you feel a players guitar should end up with a player and not with someone will not understand it.

If he comes up with something go for it and make sure you have it in writing and both sign it. Pay him by bank transfer.



This is to ensure if he is generous enough to give it to you that noone can contest it. If your an adult by law not even your parents can contest it. Make sure you do pay for it if asked an don't be a sponge. You really expecting the world to get it for free and his immediate family would hate you.
