I'm doing a Strat/Tele hybrid build and I thought I'd share a couple pics of the neck I'm working on. This is your standard, off the shelf, unfinished
$35 paddle headstock neck I ordered from Guitar fetish. I cut it/sanded it and rubbed it out. I'm blown away at how nice this C H E A P neck is! As you can see from the pics, it has some beautiful figuring! I finished it with a simple oil-rub (Tru Oil gunstock oil) applied by hand. I have less than forty bucks into this neck including the cost of the rub. I have not yet dressed the frets or attended to the rosewood, which will just be getting lemon oil.

If you have the time, I'd be very interested to hear more about the application of Tru oil on your neck.
