Hi Everyone,
Yesterday I purchased a new old stock 2006 MIM strat from a fender dealer, I already have a 2009 Hwy 1. ( I was looking for a used gibson, but being a lefty no luck. I wondered into a music store at 5;30 on a sat & I noticed they had 11 lefty MIM fenders, (I'm 60 & have never seen that many leftys in one place) there is a Santa Clause!

Today I was doing a comparison & noted the weight on the MIM was a bit heavier then the HWY 1 is this normal? since both bodies are made of Alder?

Every piece pf wood is different if it came from different trees. What kind of minerals it absorbed, moisture or climate variances. Two alder trees next to each other vary on density. Same for people also. My MIM is an anchor compared to my H-1 but I would not give up my MIM. It is no less a guitar than my H-1.
