Hello all.
I have a '97 50th Anniversary Strat w/ a rosewood fretboard. It needs a refret, but instead of shelling out the $$$, I was wanting to change the neck out completely. I'm curious if a 70's style neck ( the one with the larger headstock) would fit on the body. Are the measurements at the base of the neck the same as mine? I also was curious if anyone has a neck similar to mine that they would like to sell. Is there anywhere to shop for necks other than ebay? Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks!

Hi bbluestrat,

If you have a MIM or MIA Strat, it will take any MIM or MIA neck, even ones with the 70s style headstock. Some of the 70s style necks and bodies have 3 bolt mounting, and some have 4 bolt mounting, those will not interchange, match up the mounting hole number and it will work. The necks and neck pockets will be 2-3/16 inch wide. :)
