So after lots of research and waffling, I finally settled on a new Blizzard Pearl American Standard. Can't wait for it to get here. If all goes well, I should be annoying my neighbors by Wednesday or so. Thanks to everyone here who offered me advice and suggestions. I'll post pics when I get it.

awesome guitar! I have an american standard with blizzard pearl and it is a great guitar. it loosk even better with the pearl pickguard i put on it.
