For as long as I can remember I've used D'Addario stirngs exclusively. I've tried other strings that have been on sale or the store clerk recommends a new type but I always come back to D'Addarios. These strings stay in tune better even with agressive bending and whammy use and stay bright much longer than most.I recently tried GHS Boomers and they went dead in about 3 weeks on a guitar that I played very little in that period.

EB super slinky was my go-to set for 30 years, before switching to regular slinky (more in line with the changes in my musical style). Recently have been using GHS Boomer 10's on some of my guitars. They have a great feel, like the Ernie Ball's - and they have lots of tone.

Ernie Ball Not-Even Slinkys. 12-56. Took a while to build up the strength to play them, but damn do they sound good.

And nobody else can ever play my guitars now

John, I play 12's too, and those Ernie Balls in the black/white/red packages that are not slinky's are my favorite too. They make 'em in 13's too, which I actually prefer, but only place I can find them is the internet-my local guitar stores don't carry 'em. And I hear you on the people picking up your guitar thing too! It's hilarious to watch people's faces when they pick it up, strum for a second, and just put it back down!

LOL, now you're talking..

I'm a D'addario or Ernie Ball man myself. Always a 9 - 46 set (Ernie Ball call them Hybrid Slinkies). I like a lighter top 3 because I love extreme bends, but prefer the slightly heavier bass strings, over the standard 9 - 42 gauge. More chug and you can hit power chords a bit harder without the pitching going crazy.

My guitar playing Buddy and collaborator swears by strings by a company called Nu Tone. He believes them to bend faster and with less resistance. Never seen them in the shops - he gets them from the interweb..

Picatto (?) are good as well, but can't get them in my preferred gauge. The best thing about them is you get 2 top E strings in the pack. Usefull..

Ernie Ball 9-42 "Super Slinky" on every single guitar I own be it a Fender, Gibson, PRS, what have you. Love 9s. I can't play 10s, they are too tough for me to do lead work on. I've even thought about trying 8s "Extra Slinky" just for fun.

I prefer Ernie Ball regular slinky (.10) but my guitar teacher recommeded a pair of DR tite fit (.9) so I put those on yesterday. We will see if I like them.

Greetings

I have had some sucess with Exliers on both my electrics and my electric accoustics. The coated strings do last longer and are great for hot summer when you have more moisture hands from the condensation of the beer cans are on your hands.

Seriously though, I have had good luck with 10's from Fender,Gibson Vintage strings,Elixers and even tried the Ernie Ball Accoustic coated strings and was very impressed.

I used to use D'Addario's ,GHS they did not did't do it for me.I have not gone back to Ernie Ball Slinky's for a while so I shouldgive them another try for my electric.

Have not tried DR's yet so iam interested in peoples comments.

Can't be doing with the strings Fender put their name on.

Fell really gritty - almost rusty but without the discolouration. Wonder who makes them? First job on a new Fender - get those awful bullet strings off!

I've always played D'Addario 10's regulars but then wanted to try something new and have been playing Super Bullets for a while and i think i like them a bit more. I'm starting to learn that you can always count on anything that has the Fender logo on it...
