I recently changed the guard on my '73 Strat and on the reverse of the original pickguard is stamped C. ACEVEDO - what is this in reference to? A quality control member of staff??

Just wondered if it gave a clue to a little bit of Fender history...?

Its just a quality control mark to show who inspected or assembled a certain part of the guitar. They are all over older strats, probably one on your neck/neck pocket too.

A year ago I was privileged to work on a '74 Strat hardtail whose pickguard had that same name stamped on the underside. I believe it's the tech at Fullerton who actually wired the electronics.

Do you have any more photos of this '73 Strat?

Please!

That's fine. Thanks.

That pickguard looks good on it.

Hook me up with the guard if you don't need it. I'm always out to look for parts for a project I have going.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.
