The top of the screws in the bridge are really sharp and when I lay my palm on the bridge it hurts. If I play for any length of time it would probably cut me. It's an AVRI '57. Anybody got any solutions. I really dont want to change the bridge. I wanna leave the guitar original. I've played several different strats over the years. I've never noticed this on one before. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Hi bshane84,

I have replaced the set screws with shorter ones on a couple of Strats. Callaham sells stainless steel screws that will do the trick. Use the 1/4 inch long for the two outside saddles (low and high E), and 5/16 inch long for the rest. They will be just about flush with the saddle, no more scrapes.

http://www.callahamguitars.com/partsstr.htm Scroll down to "Height Adjustment Stainless Steel Screws". I'm sure that there are others too. I have found some at IRC, a local guitar shop. :)

Your situation is not unique. I've got quite a few Strats with "offending" saddle height screws. I pull mine out one at a time and use a sanding disc in a Dremel tool to put a slight radius at the top, then buff them smooth using fine-grit sandpaper or crocus cloth.

Hey Matt. Sure thing. If I ever sell it. I will let you know first. Yeah I meant to ask you if you could fix the bridge screws. Seein all those strats you have just blew my mind and I forgot to ask you about the bridge. But its okay. I took the first one out and filed it down. It's alot better than it was now.
