Hey All --
I've been looking for a way to get a little more out of my strat when going into a solo. I'm using an American with texas specials and I'm looking to get a little more "punch" without having to add more pedals. Was looking at the Clapton Mid Boost kit, but have read that they don't work so well with the Specials. I came across this Villex strat jack replacement booster... its only a 7db boost but it may be enough. Anyone ever use on of these in their strats, or should I save my money and go another way?

Why not just buy a cheap graphic eq or clean boost pedal? More control, not always in play. The danelectro eq cost me £30 and does give a 7db boost or cut wherever I want it.

Any boost you put on the guitars signal is going to increase noise. The main gripe of those who use the clapton midboost with normal singlecoils. Whether that is a eq, clean boost, distortion or overdrive. Amplify the signal from the guitar, you amplify the noise too.
