Ok after a bit of a disaster yesterday with a acrylic clear coat melting through the enamel paint on these boxes, we have a bit of a recovery.

Thanks Ceri, these decals are fantastic and super easy to apply.

Just off to by some enamel clearcoat, then this pedal is done.

Nutter, your on the hitlist, from yonks ago Remember?

In truth I'm struggling a bit. I simply haven't got the material for the boxes needing to go out. Or the boxes, which is the hardest component to find. Still theres a place in the northeast that sells em for a good price. Hammond want £12 a box, nothing in it, no paint on it, no holes cut. Just a plain aluminium box for £12. Silly.
I've been a bit fortunate and found a good supplier quite locally, just the other side of Lincoln. Spitting distance really. Just waiting till tommorow to contact them and see if I can drive over and pay cash. I utterly loathe internet shopping.

There's still silly things like feet and control knobs to sort out too. But the circuit is absolutely perfected, I'm really pleased with it, I'd be happy to pay for it.

Soon mate, soon.

And so would I!

On another note - if you can't find a box right now, I'd rather have the circuit than the box  so if there's no box available - I'm fine with that. I recollect you're not using circuit board so I guess it would fit in just about any box?

Obviously I'd prefer a Ninja-completed pedal so I will be patient and enjoy the ride! 8)

rock on, mate, steady as she goes.

Nik,
If it's not too expensive to ship to the "states", I'd be interested in one.
Maybe you need a US Distributor...

£10 / $16 to the US.

Honestly lads ya gotta give me some time. I am only at a very preliminary stage.

This first six that are going out are more of a customer research thing. Get some honest feedback. I really don't mind negative comment at all. It'll just give me idea's to build on. All I really ever wanted out of a fuzz pedal is something that does fuzzface, 70's funk/disco fuzz and can take a wahwah without going crazy. So far this does that to my liking, but my taste isn't the be all and end all of a marketable product.

Anyways. I really don't want to encroach on Fender's forums with this. It's already getting spammy. Please feel free to mail me nearer the time. Or add me on facebook, most of my posts about it are on there somewhere along with the other nonsense stuff you get on that site. I've absolutely no problem spamming facebook.
Just seach ndfenton@googlemail.com on facebook, or email me at that address. I'm the goon with the eyebrow and the blue strat body.

Very cool Niki! I am honored to have one of your first proto-types! Cool. We have company right now so I will not be able to record a tune with MORE fuzz till things clear out here. That last recording was much better sounding with headphone. Computer speakers did not do it justice!

So what is your line up now as far as boxes? Buzzard and the Honey Bee and ???

Just the one above mate. The Honey Bee. It does the sound of the pedal in my recording and gets close to how your pedal sounds, though it's nowhere near as loud and wild.
I think if I had to buy a fuzz, I'd want one that does both sounds and that one does. Tried it through a bass today, it makes for a convinving bass fuzz with the tone/Nectar control down low.

Ok I tossed something very dirty together in about 20 minutes. This is nothing fancy and I am very embarrassed about the guitar playing.... I laid down a funky drum beat, added bass (Fender) and then Organ, splash cymbal and the guitar. The Super Sonic Buzzard on my special old Clapton type setting. Clean guitar into a tube amp and just the buzzer using a Strat Ultra in the bridge positions. 1.2 through I go into the neck position and added a little delay. Then at the very end a little chorus (with no delay). For some reason when I uploaded this the bass guitar became almost unhearable. So odd as it was the predominate part of this cheezey take.

Practice doing em un-amped mate. Thats what I did, took a good bit of time but got there. That edge of the thumb is just making a harmonic over the pickups instead of on the fretboard. The fretted note is underneath the harmonic, kind of. What you don't get un-amped is all the associated noise from other strings. Maybe it will get you focusing on the note and not worrying about the noise. Then once you have the note sounding strong, do it amped and work on cleaning it up.
Small plectrums and right hand position makes all the difference.

I've a old 2 pence coin that I cut and filed down to plectrum shape thats brilliant for pinched harmonics.

Perhaps laying the guitar flat on your lap, hitting the harmonic with your thumb and plucking the string with a finger may help? It's all about finding your way, thats best for you aint it. I wouldn't dismiss any method or any way to get where I'm going. Even if it looks a bit lame now, it could turn into a brilliant idea later.

Man - where am I gonna find a two pence coin in Virginia? Maybe if I knew the value in $$ I could sort it?

About 3 cents mate. In truth any coin will do it. I used a 2pence piece because I could shape it long and narrow.
Metal is the best material for them pinch harmonics, just listen to the master, Billy Gibbons. He uses a mexican coin as a pick.

Neat! Thank you for that photo. It looks pretty good, but we can tweak it a bit. Mainly, push the words around a touch so's they fit the position of the knobs better.

Also, I'll replace the lettering with a fuzzy typeface, right? I completely stupidly misunderstood what you were getting at on that with the image you sent: I'll get it right this time!

This is all so cool! It's a bonnie life if you don't weaken... :D

Cheers - C

PS Does ANYONE here think this thread is spam? No, I thought not.

I fear you're being overly polite with that comment.

On the fuzzy font, I was advised that it would look bad anyway. Really don't worry about it. The current font looks fantastic.

Nutz it's really not like that from me, no sarcasm at all. Just that if I do anything, I do it. If I (man this don't read like I want it to) accept free help. It usually falls flat on it's arse. I dunno why that is, maybe it's just the Johnny Thunders 'one foot in the gutter, the other on a bannana skin' in me.

Ceri, make whatever amendments and editing you see fit. I trust your judgement. Nothing is free though, ok. You gotta accept payment in some form.

Hi Niki, just spotted a misunderstanding here. With the "sarcasm"-pic I was referring to the thesis of the possibility of this forum being "snooty" -
Ceri wrote:
Ah, not the first time I've heard that "snooty" comment. All I can say: it's an absolute honor and a pleasure to share the snooty company round here!
and I was simply trying to implement sarcasm as a sign that of course this place isn't snooty! Sorry mate, I was not making myself clear and didn't want to offend you in any way.
Anyhow, on with the story! :)
