Saw a neat strat at the local guitar shop the other day. I had a chance to play it for a few minutes and loved it.

Maple neck with what I think are gotoh tuners, labeled MIM with a SSS config, but the body is a quilted maple in a transparent green colour. The bridge pickup seems to be a hot rail seymour duncan and there appears to be a pickup boost of some sort, although I am not sure that it was working. The neck plate does say fender on it.

I wish I had a picture, it was a striking colour and had a very neat feel. I will be back next weekend again this time with a camera. The staff at the store did not know much about it other than it came in on trade.

Does anybody have any information about this strat based upon the description I have given. I am curious if this is an off the shelf strat ?

Thanks for any help you might be able to provide.

Mark

Is that a maple body or just a maple top like a Les Paul? There is a strat with a maple top, it's called the FMT.

It is a quilted maple top so I guess it would be a QMT. When were these made in Mexico, or were they ever made in Mexico?
