Made the body back and front from bookmatched ash that came from a tree I cut in my yard. Maple core, semi hollow, hard tail with an Allparts SMO_FAT neck and Texas specials. Tone knob switch kicks in the bridge PUP so I can get bridge/neck combo and all 3 combo. Dyed and French polished the body, dyed and finished neck with gun stock oil then rubbed down with a scotch brite pad for a smooth feel.

Wow - welcome to the forum, Jim - and welcome to the land of build-thread-fans! I shall add yours to a nice little list of build threads! 8)

Do you have any piccies for us build nuts? It would be cool to follow you along the process, and maybe pick up some inspiration here and there! Also, we generally love pics here so kindly hand them over!

Great guitar, mate! And from your own "live stock", too! That is great!

Regards and again, wekcome! Image

Ahhh, that's the good stuff right there! I know a couple of members who will be very interested in those cavities.... :D
Nice Neck, too. And quite a high gloss! Cool!

So, when are you doing another build? Image

Next build...not sure. My son has been talking about an SG shaped one along the same lines (semi-hollow) but I am not sure if I am up to building a set neck with a shorter scale. He wants Gretch type pick ups. A tele style has been wondering around in my head too.
