All my guitars had rosewood, til I got the Deluxe a few months ago... for whatever reason I just couldn't get along with this neck, too big, wrong neck profile, or whatever reason I'm not aware of... so I finally decided to order a neck and go back to rosewood :)

So I ordered this gorgeous neck from Musikraft couple weeks ago, with all the specs I wanted.

The tone coming from these two is a dream come true for me!

I was already extremely happy with the way the guitar sounded and wasn't expecting any change in tone... but yes, there was, it sounds even sweeter now! And it feels great in my hand which was a priority for me. It's time to start playing again and quit making any changes!

Hey Cedarblues, what a stunning neck!

Tell us: Did you hear any change in tone (amplified that is) after you put the new neck on?

:)

Take care

Yes I have. I know the maple vs rosewood debate comes up very often... my Deluxe is ash with Fralin Blues Specials. I really really love the tone, but I do find it to be somewhat bright and always have the tone turned down somewhere between 5-7 when playing through the DRRI (which is a bright amp IMO). The first thing I noticed when I plugged it in for the fist time after swapping necks is the change in tone, it does sound warmer. I actually had to turn up the tone back up to 10. But it's not just that, it's hard to explain but it sounds sweeter, almost like listening to a real 60s Strat, the notes just ring and sound magical! :D

I am extremely happy with the results, both playability and tone. I was worried as this is the first time I change necks on any of my guitars and wasn't sure what to expect. I got very lucky!

Here are the specs:

Musikraft neck based on the '59 Strat neck
Maple + Brazilian rosewood (slab)
1 5/8 nut width
Bone nut
Med C profile
Heavy rolled fingerboard edges
Jumbo (6100) frets

Thanks for taking the time, mate. Appreciated! I am a rosewood-fan myself, though mostly for the feel and looks. I didn't want a debate started, heaven forbid! I was just curious, since it's always interesting to talk about what you hear, which is usually kinda hard if all you've got is a photo! ;-)

Glad you're happy with it now. Much more satisfactory feeling when you've got what you want, eh? 8)

Cheers

I know you weren't, and I wanted to make sure no one thought I was either :) for me personally I find the biggest difference between the two to be the feel, rosewood feels "softer" and I'm just more comfortable with it cause that's all I played for the past 25 years... however, with this neck swap, there was a noticeable change in tone.

Yes it is VERY satisfying!!! :D

I didn't really do it for looks, me and that big maple neck just didn't get along... I didn't mind the look at all, to tell you the truth I prefer the way it looked with the maple. But this new neck is gorgeous :)

Indeed, BST.

I've never really been a fan of the Sienna Burst finish but with that rosewood neck, it's really starting to grow on me now.

Might be the ash beneath the paint but that's one sweeting looking Strat!
