Hello,

I am wondering which switch S-1 Switch Pot should I choose:

One of two?
http://www.fender.com/uk/products/searc ... 0061256000

and another:
http://www.fender.com/uk/products/searc ... 0061257000

What you recommend?

..and then another question is:

How to connect it to get best results? Anybody could draw the connection scheme for me please?

Thanks a lot!

Hi WizzyD,

I'd go for a 250K split shaft S-1 Switch.

Here's a link to a wiring diagram for a Dlx H-S-S Strat with the S-1 Switch.

Dlx HSS S-1 switch wiring

Hope this helps. :D

Hi WizzyD,

I'm not very goods at explaining this sort of thing so I'll try and keep it short and simple. Maybe someone else will add to the following:

A pot is a variable resistor. A 250k pot will take out less of the low end frequencies than a 500k pot. So for single coils a 250k pot is recommended for a warmer tone.

Because humbuckers, by design cancel some of the higher frequencies a 500k pot is recommended to ensure the overall tone remains clear and defined.

Hope this helps... A bit!

Andy

Hmm, anybody could support me with the knownledge?

I have MIM Lone Star Stratocaster Deluxe SSH , as I said before Im gonna mount a S-1 Switch/Pot in it, the problem is.. on scheme from Deluxe American Strat SSH there are going 4 wires from the humbrucker:

http://support.fender.com/diagrams/stra ... g2.pdf/url

I already have the switch/pot, the 5-position switch to this.. how I can fit it with my current pickups/humbrucker.. I have inly one wire going from the HB.. any idea? Ant other wires configuration? Thanks!

Question #2:

Does Deluxe Staggered Cast/Sealed Locking Tuning Machines will fit with no problems onto my MIM?

Answer to Question #1: An important part of the S-1 system as designed requires a four wire humbucker. Any other ideas or wiring configurations will defeat your purpose as the wiring will be limited because of the single lead humbucker you currently have. If you understand how a humbucker is internally wired, you MAY be able to add the wires yourself or, get another humbucker with the four wires already there. It should be noted that even if you do get a four wire humbucker, the color coding of the wires MAY be different than the Fender diagram where you would have to research and cross reference them accordingly; there may also be phasing issues.

Answer to Question #2: Yes.
