Hi - I have an Olympic white Indonesian Stratocaster (at least that's the decal on the headstock). SN is IC041004240, so I think it was made by Cort guitars in 2004. Did they really make 1,004,240 of these in 2004? Anyone know actual production numbers?

Did Fender have guitars like this made in Indonesia? Is it a Squier Strat that somebody put a Fender Strat decal on? Any help is welcome. I searched here for Indo Strat posts with little luck. If there are other threads for this, please point it out. Thanks.

Let me try embedding pics:

I'm thinking about selling this. It has 2001 Fender USA staggared pole pups. All comments welcome!

It's a Squier mate. The saddles and serial no' are a big giveaway.

Nice looking guitar.

nikininia - Thanks for the reply. I thought it might be a Squier, after looking up SN info and only seeing Squiers listed as Indo Fenders.... Ah, well - I paid too much for it ($400), and added the USA pickups for tone. It is a really nice playing guitar, and with the USA pups really sounds nice, I think.

Hey Boss

If you like the guitar, mate that is all that matters. The only thing that matters really, it's only a tool after all.

Why not just keep the thing, treat it as a labour of love. Most of us here have a old guitar thats gone through more changes than the Black Sabbath line up. All we ended up with are highly individual instruments that we can't part with.

Mine is a £200 Fender Squier series made in mexico. It's still my favourite though sadly in need of a refret.

Don't let it stress you mate.
